It is therefore used commercially as an anti-caking additive in powdered products. It is also known as disodium hydrogen orthophosphate, sodium hydrogen phosphate or sodium phosphate dibasic. It is commercially available in both the hydrated and anhydrous forms. Disodium phosphate is used in dyestuffs and metal treatment. It is also used in conjunction with trisodium phosphate in many steam-boiler applications. It supplies the inventory of free phosphates to retard calcium scale formation.DSP is also used in Metal cleaning, as a Buffer in Textile Processing, In dyestuffs for faster dispersion, an Important ingredient in fireproofing formulations, For purification of clays, For the manufacture of opal glass.

Sodium Meta Bisulphite is used as a preservative in the starch and food industry to control melanosis (black spot) in shrimp; for fermentation in the industry; as an antichlor in the chemical industry and as a redox catalyst in the acrylic fiber industry. The product is also used as a reducing agent in the purification of aldehydes and ketones; in the manufacture of sulphonated oil and resin; for detoxification of cyanide in gold ore processing plants and in the manufacture of photographic chemicals. Sodium Metabisulphite''s acidic and preservative properties also make it an effective substitute for sodium bisulfite, a chemical which is used in traditional darkroom photography. Sodium Sulphite is used as an antichlor in water treatment and desalination plants; in the reduction of wastewater in the sulfur chrome-plating industry; as a preservative in the manufacture of (TNT); as a bleaching agent and for sulfur dioxide gas in pulp mills in power plants and for leather treatment.
